YouTube Partnership – Worth All The Effort?

[ad_1]

Do you like to create and produce videos? I’m guessing that you are thinking about putting some of them on YouTube, or maybe you already have a YouTube channel with a couple of videos on it. When people start to receive a lot of views on their YouTube channel, they may want to apply to become a YouTube partner. But is it worth it?

Being a YouTube partner means that you are able to place Google AdSense advertisements on your videos and channel to receive a share of the profits that YouTube receives. Do not get YouTube partnership confused with monetisation. you can start monetising your videos when you get a total of around 10,000 views and this is where you can place AdSense on your videos, but you don’t get paid as much, only every time someone clicks on the ad.

So what do you need to become a YouTube partner?

Well, there is no set requirement as every person’s case is different. To stand with a good chance of being accepted, you need to have uploaded at least 10 videos and have at least 1000 views on all of them. More importantly, you need a large number of channel views and a figure of somewhere around 500 subscribers at least. This proves that your channel is popular and even if you don’t have that many views yet you will do soon. However, you don’t have a very strong chance of being accepted with less than 100,000 views in total.

Those are just the numbers you need, all content in all your videos must be your own, and you must show that is it. You can’t use music you don’t have the rights to, pictures and graphics, etc.

Is it all worth it?

Many partners are making six figure sums yearly. However, these guys are in the big league, in a few cases it’s possible that their YouTube partnership income isn’t even their main source of income. Look at channels like “Fred”, with over 2.1 million subscribers. How about “Annoying Orange”? With over 2.4 million subscribers and over 100 millions views. this may seem out of your reach, although we are talking about six figure incomes. You might not be looking for that much, or you might just want to do it part time.

If you enjoy producing videos that are all your own content for a hobby, but might be looking to make money from them, then it’s worth uploading them to YouTube. If your videos are very popular you shouldn’t have too much of a problem becoming a YouTube partner.

If your not getting tonnes of views then it’s not really worth becoming a partner. After all, YouTube keeps a lot of the profit for themselves. Bare that in mind.
